Energy and Water Conservation
How much energy goes into your office for lighting, heating, and computers? How much water does your organization use? How does your nonprofit contribute to global warming? Connect the Dots can help you make sustainability plans to perform your social mission with more environmental responsibility.
Energy Conservation
Connect the Dots pair your nonprofit organization with various energy conservation programs available in your area. These programs provide financial incentives and assistance to promote installations of energy-efficient products.
When you participate in the Green Start program, our staff coordinates with your gas and electric providers to create energy assessments of your facilities. This report gives you the necessary data to make informed decisions for your facilities, such as:
- Energy efficient products your facility is already using
- Additional incentives to further save energy
- Projected annual financial and environmental savings
Energy Partnerships to Save You Money
We connect you with energy conservation programs to help your nonprofit organization cut costs. In San Francisco, Connect the Dots takes full advantage of the PG&E Financial Assistance programs available to their low-income, disabled and senior citizen customers. Depending on your facility, you can take advantage of PG&E Financial Assistance, as well as the San Francisco Energy Watch program. Contact us for more information about these and other programs.
Turn Out The Lights!
At Connect the Dots, we recognize that energy consumption is not only an issue of product efficiency, but also of work habits. Through the Green Start program, our staff works with your management team to incrementally establish a culture of conservation at your work place. Saving on energy and energy costs results from teamwork, and we help you get there.
Water Conservation

Use Less, Save More
Connect the Dots recognizes the daunting task in researching and understanding what needs to be fixed, purchased, and installed to effectively conserve water. Let our GREEN START staff coordinate with conservation programs in your area to help you save water.
For instance, if your organization operates in San Francisco, the Green Start program connects you with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) Water Conservation program, available for businesses as well as residents. SFPUC has simplified the process to provide valuable information and equipment so you can make informed decisions. Their service includes a walk-through inspection of your facilities that can result in:
- FREE water saving equipment (sink aerators, showerhead, Teflon tape, etc.) for immediate installation
- List of repairs necessary to address water leaks
- Detailed analysis report identifying additional water-saving steps, including eligibility for rebates. Examples: up to $400 rebate to upgrade washers, up to $300 to switch to a high-efficiency toilet, etc.
- FREE water-saving tenant kits with signs to post in your facilities as constant reminders to conserve our precious resources.
Changing Human Behavior
Connect the Dots works with your organization to incrementally establish an environment that encourages an organization-wide culture of conservation. We help your staff use water responsibly by reinforcing good conservation habits.
